Small changes can have huge effects. This is especially true when you rethink the working axis of a lathe and realign it – not in the conventional horizontal placement, but vertically instead.
HERE EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND MACHINING METAL FOR YOU. VERTICALLY TOO.
Small changes can have huge effects. This is especially true when you rethink the working axis of a lathe and realign it – not in the conventional horizontal placement, but vertically instead.
In this way, the key task is performed by the main spindle; on vertical pick-up lathes, the main spindle both machines the workpiece (turning, drilling, milling, grinding) and takes care of the entire automation. The advantages are clear: All at once, several different process steps can be combined into one process – which saves a great deal of time in the end. In addition, the vertical working axis allows the design to be much more compact, so the machine requires significantly less space. The result: more savings of resources and costs thanks to the greatest possible production capacity in a very small production area.
THEY SAY A LATHE ISN’T EXACTLY A COMPACT MACHINE. WE SAY: UNLESS YOU POSITION THE WORKING AXIS VERTICALLY.
and setup
THEORETICALLY THERE ARE REALLY GOOD MACHINES FOR TURNING OR MILLING OR GRINDING OR CUTTING GEARS. BUT PRACTICALLY YOU CAN DO IT ALL ON ONE.
No matter if it’s for turning, milling, grinding, or cutting gears – we always configure a machine specifically for your core process. Depending on the series, you can also use the “middle turning” process developed by Schuster. In this technique, the component is affixed at the center and both ends, including the end surface, can be machined simultaneously. This way, the positions to be machined can be reached in one setup with great process reliability. This configuration also enables a high degree of efficiency and makes it possible to achieve high-precision surfaces, even with complex contours. This technology can be used with shafts in lengths from 130 to 800 mm with diameters between 15 and 100 mm.
