What does a vertical lathe from Schuster have to do with the #energytransition? Quite a lot, actually! Because wind turbines as well as energy-efficient car engines or servo motors for industry have their start with one of our lathes, which supplies the decisive components.
Let's take the example of wind power: the energy of the future. Germany is not only the technology leader here, but also uses wind as the number one alternative energy source. But for this to be usable, wind turbines with specific components are needed.
For example, several bearings are installed in each #windmill to ensure that the mill rotates reliably and that all three rotor blades can be adjusted depending on the wind. The bearings require rolling elements whose outer geometry has a tapered roller. These, in turn, are produced in an individual machining process with the help of modular systems from Schuster.
