Longtime companions at Schuster Maschinenbau
What do the purchasing clerk, the milling cutter and the head of design have in common - apart from the fact that they are all employed by Schuster Maschinenbau?
The wealth of experience of long-standing employees forms the basis for a strong team in every company. At Schuster Maschinenbau, loyalty to the company is unusually high. The record for length of service is held by Mrs. Sporer, who has been with Schuster since 1981. Even after the many years and the many ups and downs, the colleagues are motivated. We asked them why many colleagues have been with the company for so long. The most frequent answer was the good cohesion and the family atmosphere in the company. It's not for nothing that our managing director can be proud of his "powerful squad," as he likes to emphasize.
Interview with our long-time employees:

What area and what exactly are you responsible for?
I work in purchasing, in the group processing department, for electrical components and hydraulics.
What is your professional background?
Back then, when Schuster was still a small company, I started in contract parts production. After 8 years, I moved to purchasing. That developed bit by bit and worked out well.
Is there a reason why many have been loyal to Schuster for so long?
It's very family-like here and yet everyone can work freely and independently and make decisions. Personally, I also like the environment and the nice office that I share with 6 colleagues. A really good size.
What motivates you to come here every day?
I feel like I'm constantly evolving and it's nice to be part of it all and be supportive to my colleagues.
What is life like in Denklingen and the region?
Good! We have the mountains, but we're not in the middle of them. I am a village child and very close to home. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my nephews (4 + 7 years); family is important to me.

What area and what exactly are you responsible for?
Well, I have a dual function and look after reception, organize trade fairs and also do assistance tasks such as creating and following up orders and writing invoices.
What is your professional background?
I have already experienced quite an exciting time here. Back in 2009 after the insolvency I was dismissed and then a little later I started again at Christian Steidle with 23 others. I had already worked in purchasing in 1997 and was responsible for ordering spare parts. At that time we were 150-160 people spread over 3 locations and several plants. A highlight at Schuster Maschinenbau was the opening of the new hall in 2015 with Dreps Holding, which took over the company at that time.
What do you like best about Schuster?
The work is simply fun. We have a great working atmosphere here and you really see a lot in a small company.
Do you have colleagues who have become friends over the long time?
Yes, and many of these friendships still exist.
What is life like in Denklingen and the region?
I originally come from the Saarland, but have been in Bavaria for 30 years and live in the Weilheim district, 16 kilometers from Denklingen. Everything here is very rural.

What area and what exactly are you responsible for?
I work with my colleagues on hardware planning and create circuit diagrams.
What is your professional background?
At that time, I started as the only electrician in the workshop. But there were only 30 of us. After three years in the workshop, I came to the office. In that long time, a lot has changed, especially technically. Just the fact that you used to draw up circuit diagrams on a drawing board. Today, everything is done automatically. The number of cycles has increased dramatically.
What do you like best about Schuster?
I appreciate the good interaction and familiarity with the work and colleagues. The work is technically demanding. The good thing is that you're always at the front of the wave.
What is life like in Denklingen and the region?
I ride my bike 3 km to the plant. That is already a luxury.

What area and what exactly are you responsible for?
My activities: Work preparation, paperwork for assembly and manufacturing, setting appointments for purchasing.
What is your professional background?
I joined the company 2 months after Mr. Assner as a milling operator. There's always action and always full throttle with us - I like that, it never gets boring.
Is there a reason why many have been loyal to Schuster for so long?
Cohesion is the main reason why many have been here for so long. Many innovations are created here. Something new is always happening here, because we never stay in the same old rut. We also know that we can only get ahead together. Everyone has to pull together so that we can achieve our goals.
Do you have colleagues who have become friends over the long time?
Oh yes.
