KausaLAssist: Next step towards the production revolution
Modern manufacturing faces enormous challenges: Products have to be produced quickly, individually and cost-efficiently. At the same time, disruptions and downtime in production lead to high costs and considerable delays. Particularly alarming: unplanned downtime costs the world's 500 largest companies 11% of their turnover* - an immense loss that threatens their competitiveness.
Intelligent fault management: precise solutions instead of long downtimes
This is where KausaLAssist comes in: The research project is developing an innovative solution for systematic fault detection, root cause analysis, solution finding and troubleshooting. The aim is tominimize downtime and solve problems more quickly in order to sustainably increase production efficiency.
At the core of KausaLAssist is a directed graph thatcombines domain-specific knowledge with AI insights into causal relationships. This unique combination makes it possible to quickly identify faults, precisely determine their causes andmake well-founded decisions on troubleshooting.

Schuster Maschinenbau tests various production scenarios in the KausaLAssist consortium and relies ondifferent system controls to ensure applicability in a wide range of environments. A particular advantage of KausaLAssist is the use of the OPC UA Alarms & Conditions standard, whichenables implementation on various control models and thus simplifies the comprehensive rollout across the entire store floor.
Intelligent machines: learning for life
A central element of KausaLAssist is the continuous learning of AI.By linking new data with expert knowledge, the system becomes increasingly intelligent and can react proactively to potential faults before they even occur. Great importance is also attached to the explainability of AI decisions. The insights gained are presented in a way that can be read by humans and machines, which makes the solution easier to use intuitively and promotes well-founded decisions.
Increasing efficiency, reducing costs: the future of Industry 4.0
With KausaLAssist Schuster Maschinenbau is taking the next step towards revolutionary production optimization. Linking AI insights with domain-specific knowledge not only enables rapid troubleshooting, but also preventive measures to avoid future failures. The result: higher efficiency, lower production costs and greater competitiveness.
